Bournemouth is the jewel of the South Coast of England. With over 4 miles of sandy beach lined with an easy access promenade, it is the choice location for either a quick break from the throbbing capital, or a holiday to remember.
One of the few places with it's own Symphony Orchestra ( the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra ) in the UK it is certainly a centre of cultural music.
In the Summer the town becomes packed with a vibrant foreign student scene with over 5000 students from all over the world descending to pick up some english, whilst trying to find a climate as close to their own as possible.
For the kids in the Summer make sure you take in the fireworks on a Friday night at around 9:00PM.
some of the best night clubs on the South Coast pulse into the thrumming night. Whether they be all owned by the famous Bournemouth Mafia or not - they are all just soo much fun.
When it is rainy and you need to entertain the kids I suggest:

• Bournemouth Aquarium - by the pier -all ages
• Wacky Warehouse - by the pier - under 6s
• Museum by the pier ( all ages but older better )
• Hengesbury head - a good windy outside walk
• Shell Bay in Pool - over the Sandbanks ferry for 90pence each
